The increased use of wipes has already been causing problems with plumbing and even at sewage treatment plants.\u00a0 Despite inaccurate labels of “flushable” these should\u00a0never<\/em>\u00a0be flushed down the toilet.<\/p>\n

Why not?\u00a0 We’ve known for a long time that baby wipes cause problems because they don’t break down, and that leads to blockages.\u00a0 Toilet paper, on the other hand, is made so that it disintegrates soon after it becomes wet.\u00a0 Ever try using TP as a paper towel?\u00a0 It’s soon reduced to muck.<\/p>\n

Problems Caused by Flushing Wipes<\/h2>\n

An increase in major\u00a0problems caused by flushing wipes has already been noted in Northern California<\/a> at several locations.\u00a0 The Novato Sanitary District reported a literal geyser inside one of their facilities.\u00a0 Another report involved sewage backing up and overflowing through a manhole cover.\u00a0 And England is already reporting sewer main backups caused by toilet paper substitutes.<\/p>\n

To make matters worse, the novel coronavirus has been detected in feces but may no longer be infectious..\u00a0 Regardless,\u00a0if you notice that familiar smell there’s a very good change that bacteria and other disease organism have become airborne.\u00a0 So your diligent attention is needed.<\/p>\n

So\u00a0only<\/em>\u00a0the 3-Ps — Pee, Poop, and toilet Paper — should go down the toilet.<\/p>\n
